Vendors
Are you interested in being part of an unique and inspiring business venture? Have you been looking for the perfect opportunity to grow your small-business? Can you design a space that will excite our customers and leave them wanting more?
Maybe you just want to stop traveling so much, wondering where your next show will be and if they'll have available space. Maybe you're tired of hauling your booth items from place to place, setting up and tearing down in a day or two, and doing it all over again the next weekend. Maybe you run your business from home but would like more exposure.
Could you see yourself in a bustling, unique, temperature-controlled, store with dedicated floorspace that is all yours? How about if it's also in an excellent location? If so, then Miss Mercantile Marketplace located at 141 E Michigan Avenue, Saline, Mi would love to welcome you to our team! Please send an email with the following information:
- Send your email to nicole@missmercantilemarket.com On the "subject" line please write NEW VENDOR.
- Vendors interested in booth-space: In the body of the email, please tell me a bit about yourself in relation to your items and your experience. Do you have retail experience? Have you designed vendor booths previously? What is your design concept for your booth space? Approximately how many square feet are you interested in renting?
- Vendors interested in straight consignment: You won't participate in volunteer hours or maintain a booth. The commission percentage will be higher, as this is a more hands-off approach. You will bring your items in (to be put on walls, a small table, small stand, on a small rack, etc.) You will price your items (and include a description/relevant information if necessary) and I will sell your items in available locations throughout the store. You will still have a vendor portal to see your sales and update inventory. You will be responsible for resupplying your inventory, so please be sure to check your portal often and bring your merchandise to the store, as needed.
- All Vendors: In the body of the email, please include your full name, address, phone number, and a website if you have one. Specify whether you are seeking rental space or straight consignment.
- Upload pictures of your merchandise and any mock display ideas, vendor show set-up pictures, vision boards, etc. Basically, show me whatever you can to help me visualize your concept.
- If you are not accepted. IT DOESN'T MEAN I DIDN'T LIKE YOUR IDEAS, YOUR WORK, or SOMETHING YOU WROTE! It usually means I do not have space available, or I need more diversification in the store. You will be placed on our list to be contacted in the future.
- Once accepted you will be sent the guidelines and costs. If you would like to proceed, we will set up a time to meet at the store. Once there, we will go over the contract, and you will select your store location. Certain areas are already measured and priced based on room size and flow. Other areas are much more wide open and have several possibilities for booths (or merchandise displays) and configurations.
- If you aren't renting booth space, you will bring your items along with anything needed to display them (like a jewelry stand, for example) and leave them with me after signing the contract.
I will contact all vendors who apply. I will not leave you wondering. As soon as I know I have space and can bring you onboard, I will send you an email. If I do not have available space, I will email you. In other words, I will reach out to everyone as soon as possible. I hate feeling in limbo or waiting for responses. I work very hard at making communication with vendors a top priority.
Running the business keeps me occupied most waking-hours of most days, but YOU ARE THE MARKETPLACE! Your talent moves and inspires me! I want to celebrate you and give you a space to shine! That's why I'm opening this store.
With the exorbitant rent prices, retail-space is so unaffordable for "Mom and Pop" shops (myself included). I was a fifth-grade teacher not a corporate CEO...not that there's anything wrong with that, lol. I'm just speaking from a financial standpoint. We are a team. We are in this together. Your success is my success. My success is your success. This only works when we all support each other and work side-by-side with a generous and giving spirit. Our vendors look out for each other and show customers all that is offered in our Marketplace. Our vendors celebrate awesome ideas and help each other grow. For this reason, I have to be strict about standards and guidelines. I am looking for talented, dedicated, enthusiastic Artists, Collectors and Designers. Ideally, you will be a little bit of all three if creating a booth-space.
If you are ready to have fun, be invested and engaged, support your teammates, and create something special, send me an email at nicole@missmercantilemarket.com
I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you! ❤️
